Yoga Nidra

  • Yoga Nidra is a deeply nourishing and restful form of guided meditation that involves no physical movement, making it accessible to every type of body. We normally practice Yoga Nidra lying down on a comfortable mat or cushions, snuggled under a blanket, though it can also be done in a supported sitting position too.

The word "Nidra" means 'sleep' in Sanskrit, so it literally translates as Yoga Sleep or the Yoga of Sleep.

Through gentle breathwork, body scanning, focused awareness, and visualisation, we enter the state of Yoga Nidra—a liminal space between waking and sleeping. It's a state in itself, hovering between Alpha brain waves (relaxed awareness) and Theta waves (REM sleep). There are many proven benefits of time spent in these brain wave states.

I offer Yoga Nidra as group sessions and 1-2-1 and workshops. Each session lasts approximately 45 mins to an hour.

  • You don't need any experience with meditation or yoga to benefit from Yoga Nidra. All you need is a willingness to rest and receive. I'll guide you through the entire practice, and there's nothing you need to "do".
